IBA alumni startup becomes the first local company to be listed as SPN Amazon Pakistan
BBA alumni, Osama Bin Tahir (Class of 2017), Mr. Farid Ahmed (Class of 2017), and Mr. Arsalan Raza (Class of 2016), started a tech startup called Embarc at the Center for Entrepreneurial Development (CED), IBA. Under the guidance and mentorship of Dr. Shahid Qureshi, Program Director IBA CED, and other IBA faculty members, the initiative made phenomenal progress and now it is the first Pakistani owned company listed on the Service Provider Network - Amazon.
Embarc initiated on a small scale, with a team of five members, one client and minimum revenue for their initial six months. Later, coupled with the business acumen of Mr. Shahzaib, who joined as a business development expert and immense team effort, the startup expanded its business into providing consulting services for textile manufacturers in Pakistan, and brought big names on Amazon.
Currently Embarc has offices in China and USA, while operating more than 30+ clients on Amazon. They have built more than 15+ brands on Amazon, in multiple markets such as UAE, Japan, Australia, Europe, etc. Embarc has a core focus on textile products and has proudly labeled their products ‘Made in Pakistan’. Embarc team was recently invited by the Ministry of Commerce to discuss and assist the potential of the Pakistan SME sector on Amazon.
