The Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi has dedicated departments/center which are actively working to propagate a multidisciplinary research culture through various local and international collaborations, which in turn helps the country's policymakers by providing them sound academic expertise in effective decision-making.
Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC)
The Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) was established in 2011 under the guidelines from HEC with the aim to become the backbone of the country's policy makers by providing sound academic expertise. Applied research at the Institute not only facilitates the decision-making bodies, NGOs, transnational organizations, and businesses but also transforms an idea into a scholarly project. The IBA Karachi wants to set a standard of excellence and outline new frontiers in research. ORIC strives to provide a culture, infrastructure and environment that encourages and supports the IBA community.

The Business Review, a peer reviewed biannual journal, is the official publication of the IBA Karachi. It is an international journal that publishes refereed papers on both established and emerging aspects of business and social sciences. Its objective is to bridge the gap between theory and practice, making research useful and relevant for decision and policy makers. The journal places strong emphasis on theoretical and empirical studies, evaluation activities, implementation research and ways of improving the practice of business.
