Students visit Indus Pencil Industries to gain corporate insights

20 September, 2023: The students at the School of Business Studies (SBS), Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi visited the Indus Pencil Industries Private Ltd (IPI), Deer Pencils, and Foods to gain first-hand corporate insights.

The visit was organized under the tutelage of Dr. Nida Aslam Khan, Assistant Professor and Chairperson, Marketing Department, SBS, for the MS Marketing students enrolled in the Marketing Strategy course.

The students had an interactive session with IBA Alumnus and COO, IPI, Mr. Raza Naeem. Mr. Naeem shared the strategic direction and vision of the company. He also elaborated on the history of three generations holding office for 60 years. Furthermore, he discussed core competencies, functions, joint ventures, pricing strategies, marketing strategies, sales, and distribution networks at the IPI.

SBS - IBA will continue to interact with industry professionals to build its linkages and develop an understanding of local industries for the students.
