SMCS organizes MS project presentations for MSCS and MSDS programs
4 August, 2023: The School of Mathematics and Computer Science (SMCS) organized an MS Project Poster session at the Main Campus which is a semester-long culmination of the Master of Science (MS) Computer Science and Master of Science (MS) Data Science programs.
In the session, students implemented a software product/service to solve an industrial problem and were assessed through the poster session and other standard assessments. Fourteen students demonstrated their projects in multiple industrial domains including healthcare, real estate, e-commerce, cloud, cyber security, and finance. They were evaluated by fifteen senior-level industry experts from the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), Habib Bank Limited (HBL), Systems Limited, 10 Pearls, Securiti.ai, GSK Pakistan, and Dastgyr Technologies, along with academic faculty members.
Dr. Shakeel Khoja, Dean, SMCS; Dr. Shahid Hussain, Associate Professor and Chairperson Computer Science, SMCS; Dr. Tariq Mahmood, Professor, SMCS, and other faculty members attended the event.
The feedback of these evaluators was employed to improve the execution of both FYPs and MS Projects by bridging the industry-academia gap.
