SMCS Hosts a Conversation on 'Era of Artificial Intelligence | Microsoft as the Market Leader'

November 27, 2024:İBA-SMCS hosted Mr. Jibran Jamshed, Country Principal Officer - Pakistan & Education Lead South Asian markets, Microsoft, for an insightful discussion with Dr. Shakeel A. Khoja, Dean SMCS, on the topic 'Era of Artificial Intelligence: Microsoft as the Leader in the Market'. The session was attended by industry representatives, alumni, faculty, staff, and undergraduate and graduate IBA students.

The discussion apprised the attendees about the possible changes that AI would bring to the future employment and business markets. Mr. Jamshed stressed that Microsoft has been and continues to be, the leader of AI innovation around the world and spoke about the initiatives the company has undertaken in partnership with HEC to assist in readiness and skilling levels in Pakistan.

He shed light on the possibilities for students of IBA and other higher educational institutions regarding the Microsoft ecosystem. He highlighted the essential skills they will need to possess to enter the AI-oriented industries and how Microsoft can help them develop. More specifically, he urged the students to investigate and understand the culture and values of companies like Microsoft and Google. He stressed that this would go a long way in helping students create opportunities for themselves and integrate into the active surrounding ecosystems.
