SMCS Fosters Innovative Learning Through an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Workshop
October 16, 2024: IBA-SMCS organized an impactful workshop on Outcome-Based Education (OBE), bringing together faculty from leading universities, including Bahria University, FAST-NUCES, University of Karachi (UoK), NED University of Engineering & Technology, Dawood University of Engineering & Technology, DHA Suffa University, Salim Habib University, Usman Institute of Technology (UIT), Institute of Business Management (IoBM), Karachi Institute of Economics & Technology (KIET), Hamdard University, and IBA Karachi.
Led by Assistant Professor and Coordinator Outcome-Based Education (OBE), IBA-SMCS, Dr. Salman Zafar, the workshop explored the essential components of designing Program Educational Objectives (PEOs), Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs), and Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs). Dr. Zafar shared practical strategies to strengthen OBE implementation, providing participants with actionable insights to enhance teaching and learning outcomes at their respective institutions.
The workshop enabled integral discussions on how to apply OBE principles not just in theory but in actual teaching. This session is poised to be a catalyst for transformative change and future collaborations, aiming to elevate the standard of education across institutions nationwide.
Dean SMCS, Dr. Shakeel Khoja, and Chairperson DCS-SMCS, Dr. Shahid Hussain, commended the participants' enthusiasm and emphasized continued collaboration to enhance education in Pakistan.
