IBA Students Team - Runner-up - CFA Institute Research Challenge
The IBA Karachi is proud to announce that its students team has earned the runner-up spot at the country finals of the CFA Institute Research Challenge, the premier global equity research competition for budding analysts. In doing so, the team bested 19 other teams from universities across Pakistan and became the best undergraduate team of financial analysts in this year's competition. Their efforts are a result of months of dedicated efforts and the unwavering guidance of their mentors, AVP Research-BIPL Securities Limited Mr. Sajjad Tajri and Chairperson, Department of Finance, Dr. Sana Tauseef.
The team comprised the following students:
- Hunain Ghulam Mohiuddin
- Mohammad Hasan Khan
- Muhammad Daniyal Khan
- Warda Khalid
The competition centered around an in-depth investigation of a domestically listed company's fundamentals and prospects to finalize and pitch an investment recommendation (this year's company was Meezan Bank Ltd.) Participating teams worked with their assigned mentors over the course of almost three months to create a detailed financial model and submit their recommendation in an extensive professional report. The finalists, selected from an evaluation of the reports, then presented their findings to leading industry practitioners
