Oxfam and IBA Karachi collaborate on dealing with harassment in HEI

The Oxfam team conducted a training session with the members of the IBA Anti-Harassment Committee and selected IBA staff and faculty members on dealing with harassment in higher education institute. Gender Specialist, Oxfam in Pakistan, Mr. Sartaj Abbasi, was the speaker. He was accompanied by Project Coordinator, Oxfam in Pakistan, Ms. Sadaf Zakaullah.

The IBA Karachi signed an agreement with Oxfam to raise awareness on gender issues within the University, and engage the institute employees with capacity building in dealing with harassment. This particular project is being implemented in collaboration with HEC and Australian High Commission (AHC).

Although, the IBA has structured and effective policies in place, it is anticipated that such a platform will help strengthen the processes further and build capacities to understand and address matters within the sexual harassment domain in an effective manner.
