Aug 19-23, 2019: Islamic Finance for Academicians

19th to 23rd, August, 2019, Islamic Finance for Academicians. IBA Centre for Excellence in Islamic Finance, in collaboration with LUMS Center for Islamic Finance is conducted an Executive Learning Program titled "Islamic Finance for Academicians" from the 19th to 23rd of August, 2019. Dr. Irum Saba, Program Director, MS Islamic Banking and Finance, organized and inaugurated the five-day intensive program targeted at full time faculty members and researchers of academic institutes.

The workshop provided an opportunity to the participants to interact with and learn from Prominent Islamic Finance Academicians, such as, Dr, Eskandar Shah, Associate Dean (SGPS) INCEIF, Dr. Irum Saba, Program Director, MS Islamic Banking and Finance, IBA, Dr. Saad Azmat, Chair, Centre for Islamic Finance, LUMS, and Dr. Aun Raza, Director Curriculum Development, Centre for Islamic Finance, LUMS. Moreover, the participants benefitted from the experience of Islamic Banker, Mr. Ahmed Ali Siddiqui, Head of Shariah Compliance, Meezan Bank. To give an overview of the Regulations for Islamic Financial Institutions to the participants, Mr. Muhammad Islam Ahmed, Head of Policy, Islamic Banking Department, State Bank of Pakistan, conducted a session. The participants benefited greatly from the presence of Leading Shariah Scholars, such as, Dr. Akram Lal Din, Executive Director, International Shari’ah Research Academy for Islamic Finance (ISRA), & Mufti Irshad Ahmad Aijaz, Chairman of the Shariah Supervisory Board.

Dr. Farukh Iqbal, Dean & Executive Director, IBA, delivered a keynote, before certificate distribution ceremony, to highlight the importance of Islamic Finance for Academicians.
