IBA Karachi (SMCS) and (MoFEPT) STEAM Pakistan signed an agreement to improve Mathematics and Science Learning Experiences between universities, schools and communities

February 06, 2023: School of Mathematics and Computer Science (SMCS), IBA Karachi signed a Letter of Understanding (LoU) with the Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training (MoFEPT) STEAM Pakistan. Dean SMCS, Dr. Shakeel Khoja; and Head, Partnerships & Lead, STEM Policy Unit, Sindh, Ms Sana Kazmi; signed an LoU on behalf of their respective institutions. The LoU was signed at the IBA Main Campus.

Representatives from MoFEPT included Mr. Jamal Anwar, Associate Partnerships and Learning, Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training. IBA SMCS was represented by the Chairperson of the Mathematical Science Department, Dr Hisham Bin Zubair Syed, and Assistant Professor and Program Director of MS and PhD Mathematics, Dr Danish Ali.

The program’s overall objective is to improve student learning outcomes in public schools across the country and develop cognitive and critical thinking abilities among students through sessions and activities.

The (MoFEPT) STEAM Pakistan Program will work with SMCS, IBA Karachi by providing technical support to the faculty and students to establish Math’s Circles, STEAM Clubs and the STEAM Safeer Program across the country.
