IBA Karachi hosts Grand Alumni Reunion 2023
December 28, 2023: The Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi held its Grand Alumni Reunion 2023 at IBA, City Campus, bringing together over 1,000 alumni from all around the world. The IBA collaborated with the 'Alumni and Placement Society' to make this event a great success. The event was a vibrant celebration, providing a meaningful platform for graduates to reconnect, reminisce, and honor the enduring spirit of their alma mater.
Director Alumni Affairs, Resource Mobilization and Corporate Relations, Malahat Awan, presented the opening remarks and offered a warm welcome to the gathered alumni. She emphasized the pivotal role alumni play as ambassadors of IBA and acknowledged their unwavering commitment, attributing it to the Institute's current standing. Alumni Representative on the Board of Governors, Sohail Mohammad, also welcomed the guests and highlighted the year's series of events and significant changes that have taken place under his leadership on the board.
The Executive Director IBA, Dr. S. Akbar Zaidi, delivered an enlightening keynote and shed light on the transformative journey of IBA, underscoring the crucial role played by alumni in preserving the legacy of their beloved institution. His insights provided a valuable perspective on the growth and evolution of IBA over the years.
Deans from the three schools at IBA added prestige to the occasion, offering their perspectives on the Institute's growth and expressing gratitude for the continuous support of the alumni community. The event also featured remarks from the office bearers of alumni chapters, providing a platform to acknowledge the impact of IBA Alumni across different regions. They shared reflections on IBA's evolution and outlined the future plans of their respective chapters. This segment provided a unique opportunity for attendees to understand the diverse impact IBA has had on its graduates across the globe. Notable guests included Producer and celebrated artist, Sheheryar Munawar Siddiqui; CEO Bank of Punjab, Zafar Masud; and CEO Unilever Pakistan, Amir Paracha.
The night transitioned into a dinner and networking session, providing a perfect opportunity for attendees to share personal and professional experiences. The evening concluded with a mesmerizing Qawali performance by Hamza Akram Khan, infusing a cultural and musical flavor into the celebration.
