IBA Karachi to establish a China Study Center
July 07, 2021:The Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Karachi, Mr. Li Bijian held a video conference with IBA Professor, Dr. Nasir Afghan, where Dr. Afghan proposed to expand cooperation between students of both countries.
Dr. Afghan opined that to deepen the cultural exchange, the China Study Center, to be established at the IBA, will undertake a series of activities including, hosting Chinese cultural festivals, teaching Chinese studies as a university course, translating notable Chinese books into regional languages, a transfer of agricultural technology, and a boost in exchange programs pertaining to China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Several other Chinese diplomats including President Zhang Xiaoping, Dean Confucius Institute, Karachi University, Guo Chunshui, Economic and Commercial Counselor, and Deng Haixiao, Deputy Consul also joined the video conference, reaffirming the promise of maintaining a strong bilateral relationship between the people of both countries. The participants also exchanged views on signing a memorandum of cooperation and other matters.
