IBA Karachi in collaboration with GDG Kolachi hosted Google I/O Extended 2023 workshop

September 16, 2023: IBA Karachi in collaboration with Google Developers Group - GDG Kolachi hosted Google I/O Extended 2023, at the IBA City Campus. The event inspired IBA students and local developers to learn and connect as a community by exploring how to use Google technology to accelerate economic impact. Over 800+ participants attended the event from different HEIs and industries.

Dr. Shahid Hussain, Chairperson, Department of Computer Science, SMCS, delivered the opening remarks and welcomes the attendees. Subsequently, various speakers from the tech industry delivered the keynote session, including Jahan Ara, CEO Katalyst Labs; Raza Matin, Co-Founder & CEO, Chikoo; Mr. Omar Abedin, Head of VC Investments, TMT Venture Ltd. and Jawwad Farid, Professor of Practice, SMCS IBA.

Google I/O Extended also featured workshops on ‘Flutter's Future with Stacked’, ‘Democratic System Design’, ‘Vertex AI by AI Engineer’ and ‘Deploy your app serverless using Cloud Run’ for IBA students and other participants. A significant number of enthusiastic participants marked the success of the workshop.
