IBA Karachi and Bank Alfalah Islamic collaborate to support deserving NTHP students
April 24, 2024: Bank Alfalah Islamic demonstrated its commitment to education and community development by awarding scholarships to five deserving students from IBA Karachi's National Talent Hunt Program (NTHP). The generous gesture was part of the bank's corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. Senior leadership from IBA Karachi was invited to the newly inaugurated Bank Alfalah Islamic Premier branch for a check-handing over ceremony. Group Head of Islamic Banking, Bank Alfalah, Dr. Muhammad Imran (MBA Batch of 1998, IBA), presented the cheque to Dr. S Akbar Zaidi, Executive Director, IBA.
The newly inaugurated branch provided a splendid backdrop for the gathering, which included senior management, alumni of IBA's MS IBF program, as well as students and leadership from IBA. Dr. Muhammad Imran escorted Dr. Zaidi on a tour of the new branch, describing its ethos as a space fostering ideas and meaningful conversations.
Attendees also included Dr. Asma Hyder, Professor and Dean, School of Economics & Social Sciences; Dr. Irum Saba, Associate Professor and Program Director, MS Islamic Banking & Finance; and Malahat Awan, Director Alumni Affairs, Resource Mobilization, and Corporate Affairs. Syed Rizwan Ali Bukhari from the National Talent Hunt Program department was also present, accompanied by the five scholarship recipients.
The session was marked by candid discussions about Bank Alfalah Islamic's vision to lead the banking sector, with its rapid growth standing as a testament to the quality of its services and products. Students shared their enriching experiences at IBA Karachi and expressed their aspirations for the future. Dr. Imran commended the students for their dedication and emphasized the importance of giving back to society once they achieve success.
The event concluded with sharing tokens of appreciation and a renewed commitment to fostering collaboration for the betterment of IBA and its community.
