IBA Karachi and Abdullah Foundation signed an agreement to support local talent in the fields of data science and computer science

November 25, 2022: The Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi and Abdullah Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support and develop local talent in data science and computer science fields.

Chairman Abdullah Foundation, Mr. Mian Abdullah, and Executive Director IBA, Dr. S Akbar Zaidi, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions. Representatives from Abdullah Foundation and Sapphire Group included Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Mr. Abdul Sattar; Director, Mr. Nadeem Abdullah; and Company Secretary, Zeeshan Qureshi. IBA was represented by Director Corporate Relations and Resource Mobilization, Ms. Malahat Awan, and Dean, School of Mathematics and Computer Science, Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Khoja.

The MoU was signed in the Mian Abdullah Library showcasing the long-held partnership between the two organizations. This MoU will open a new chapter of collaboration and will develop a mechanism for supporting talented and ambitious students from marginalized areas of the country who have limited resources to afford their education. As per the understanding, Abdullah Foundation will create two scholarship seats at IBA for data science and computer science students.

Dr. Zaidi, on the occasion, said, "IBA focuses on creating opportunities to support and encourage local talent and inculcating the requisite skills to thrive in their careers. The support given to us by Abdullah Foundation will further help us in achieving our mission".
