IBA demonstrates commitment to quality education at AACSB Asia Pacific Accreditation Conference

June 05-07, 2023: A delegation from the School of Business Studies (SBS), Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi, participated in a three-day Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) Asia Pacific Accreditation Conference, hosted by the University of Technology, Sydney, Australia.

The IBA delegation included Dr. S Akbar Zaidi, Executive Director; Dr. Abdullah Zafar Sheikh, Professor and Dean, SBS; and Dr. Sana Tauseef, Chairperson, Finance department and Lead, IBA-SBS AACSB Review and Execution Committee (AREC).

The delegation engaged in a series of insightful sessions, discussions, networking community meetings, and stimulating keynotes. The conference delved into emerging topics such as Generative AI and Academic Integrity, Articulating Societal Impact, and intellectual contributions beyond the academic space. The delegation actively contributed to knowledge-sharing discussions with peer schools, exploring forward-looking approaches and strategic solutions to achieve positive outcomes in the field of business education.

The delegation also met Dr. Stephanie Bryant, EVP, and Global Chief Accreditation Officer, AACSB International; and Ms. Amy Memon, Regional Head, South Asia, AACSB International.

During these meetings, the delegation discussed the progress made by the IBA-SBS toward obtaining the AACSB Accreditation. The Initial Self Evaluation Report (iSER) and the first Progress Report from the SBS have already been accepted by the AACSB, and the School is actively working towards any remaining gaps.
