CED organizes Global Mothers' Entrepreneurship Camp
January 14-16, 2022:The IBA Center for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) organized Global Mothers' Entrepreneurship Camp (G-MEC). The G-MEC was a 3-day program focused on inculcating an entrepreneurial spirit in the participants and unleashing their creativity.
The camp commenced with a welcome note by Dr. Shahid Qureshi, Program Director IBA-CED and Professor, IBA Karachi. He enlightened the audience with entrepreneurship modules. Trainings were imparted by esteemed trainers including, Dr. Qureshi on 'Entrepreneurial Mindset' while Ms. Ambreen Shahid Qureshi shared her expertise on 'Effectual Skills, Life Skills & Values and Branding'. Further sessions were conducted by guest speakers including, Ms. Kanwal Abbasi, Parenting & Mental Health Counselor; Dr. Summiya Afzal, Australian Senior Academy and Certified Life Coach; Ms. Amna Rumaisa Zahidi, Director, Namud Net work- Resource Person, Working Women Welfare Trust on topics including, self-development, women entrepreneurship, family management, work life balance, mindfulness and yoga, nation-building, women entrepreneurship and anger management. G-MEC Program Coordinator, Ms. Misbah Amin also conducted a session on digital marketing.
The purpose of this camp was to help women step into the world of entrepreneurship while managing the challenges within their surroundings and their respective households. A Father's Session was also conducted to establish the significance of an entrepreneurial mindset for the male family members of the participating females.
The event concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony. Ms. Afshan Akram, CEO - Designer In; Ms. Shamsa Jawed Ahmed, Convener Central Standing Committee, FPCCI; Ms. Seema Shehbaz, Deputy Convener, FPCCI; Dr. Tasneem Kauser, Founder Dr. Tasneem's Clinic and Mr. Tanveer Ahmed, Founder Indus Delta Business Women Forum; participated as chief guests.
