Faculty Promotions

The IBA Karachi is pleased to announce the promotion of three faculty members in recognition of their accomplishments and commitment towards research. The promotions have been awarded after recommendation by the Selection Board and approval from the Board of Governors.

Dr. Asma Hyder, Chairperson, Department of Economics has been promoted to the rank of Professor. Dr Hyder earned her Post Doctorate degree from University of Pennsylvania and her PhD in Labor Economics from National University of Sciences and Technology, Pakistan & Sussex University. Previously, Dr. Hyder has served as a member of Social Sector and Devolution at Ministry of Planning Development & Reform.

Dr. Adnan Haider has been elevated to the position of professor at the Department of Economics. Dr. Haider has been associated with IBA since 2013. He received his PhD degree in Economics from Pakistan Institute of Development Economics, Islamabad. In the past, he has worked as a Research Analyst, Economic Modeling Division, Research Department at State Bank of Pakistan.

Dr. Gulnaz Anjum, faculty member, Department of Social Sciences and Liberal Arts has been promoted as the associate professor. She holds a PhD in Psychology from University of Jena, Germany. Dr Gulnaz, who joined IBA in 2016, was previously teaching at Quaid-i-Azam University and visiting research fellow at University of Kent at Canterbury.
