Dr. Faiza Mushtaq, Assistant Professor, Department of Social Sciences and Liberal Arts, is one of the lead researchers in a new year-long study titled "Family and Community in the Time of Covid-19 - Pakistan" (FACT-Pakistan). This research project is being carried out in partnership with University College London and an international network of ten countries, aiming to explore the impact of the public health and economic crises caused by the novel coronavirus.

Dr. Mushtaq's study will gather in-depth qualitative data from families in Karachi using an innovative online ethnographic method. It will explore how individuals and households respond to risks to their well-being, with a special focus on gendered forms of labor and challenges faced by young people.
