CEJ hosts UNDP delegation for collaborative engagement and fostering information integrity

April 27, 2024: Director, CEJ-IBA, Amber Rahim Shamsi, welcomed Kanni Wignaraja, Assistant Secretary-General, United Nations and Director, Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP); Samuel Rizk, UNDP's Resident Representative in Pakistan, and other senior officials of UNDP at the City Campus.

The visit focused on the advancements made by the iVerify Pakistan platform, a UN fact-checking initiative crucial for combating misinformation and disinformation in Pakistan, which is being implemented by the CEJ-IBA.

Ms. Wignaraja met with the fact-checking team behind the success of the platform and expressed her appreciation for their dedication to information integrity.

During the visit, Director, CEJ, Shamsi, noted the significant benefits of collaborating with the UNDP Pakistan, enhancing the capacity to educate and equip society against disinformation.
