CED organizes 3rd IBA International Entrepreneurship Winter School
January 13, 2022: IBA's Center for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) successfully concluded another exciting program '3rd IBA International Entrepreneurship Winter School (IEWS)-2021'. It was a 10-day fun filled program designed to impart knowledge of entrepreneurship from a South Asian perspective, while submerging into the cultural richness of Pakistan through lectures and hands-on experiential pedagogy.
The program was attended by more than 50 participants belonging to different countries and various cities of Pakistan. Participants attended from Germany, Somalia, Egypt. Local participants were from Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, TandoAllaYar, Hyderabad and Nooriabad.
The 10-day program included renowned names from academia and industry, who shared insights and distinct international experiences, leading participants to develop insights and understanding of entrepreneurial strategy and its various implications. Course facilitator and Guest Speakers included, Dr. Shahid Qureshi, Program Director IBA CED; Dr. Umair Shah, University of Waterloo, Canada; Mr. Hans Guelich, Stamford University, Bangkok; Dr. Khurram Sharif- University of Qatar; Dr. Hasnain Walji, Executive Director – JFF-UGI, United States; Mr. Aidin Salamzadeh, University of Tehran, Iran; Mr. Kamran Siddiqui- Talent digger, UAE and Mr. Peter Jacobs, Vice President Disabled Sailing Thailand.
Additionally, various IBA faculty members including, Dr. Muhammad Ayaz, Dr. Asif Jaffer, Dr. Imran Khan, Dr. Shahid Mir, Mr. Faisal Jalal, Dr. Kamran Mumtaz and Mr. Yaseen Ahmed Meenai, also taught the participants.
The participants also met multiple guest speakers who motivated them in their entrepreneurial journey. Guest speakers included, Mr. Mehmood Ali, Karachi Foods; Mr. Osama Bin Tahir, Embarc Deals; Mr. Ijaz Ahmed, Import Export Consultant; Mr. Ateeq Ur Rehman, Adviser /Banking & Insurance, KCCI and Mr. Hassan Khan, Trax Logistics.
A certificate distribution ceremony was held on the final day. The certificates were distributed by the chief guests Dr. Kamran Mumtaz, Chairperson and Assistant Professor, Department of Management, IBA Karachi and Mr. Ali Asad Heemani, Trustee KNOW foundation, who also shared their experiences with the audience.
