CED organized an E-commerce training session to encourage youth startups
July 16, 2022: IBA Center for Entrepreneurial Development (CED), Business Incubation Center (BIC) organized an E-commerce training session titled, 'Beat Unemployment - Learn from Local E-commerce' in collaboration with Corporate Freedom and Soul.
Chief Guest and Dean, School of Computer Science and Mathematics, Dr. Shakeel Khoja, welcomed the guests, speakers, and all the participants. He narrated a few interesting stories which had entrepreneurial and E-commerce learning perspectives. He commended the efforts of IBA-CED in organizing the training session to upskill our youth. He further said that such tech events would play a vital role in mobilizing the youth by providing them with the necessary skillset. Dr. Khoja also distributed mementos to the guests and management team.
Addressing the audience, Mr. Mohammad Talha, Assistant Manager, Incubation, IBA-CED warmly welcomed the speakers, collaborators and participants. He reiterated the resolve of IBA-CED to promote the entrepreneurial mindset and startup ecosystem in Pakistan through such activities.
The lead trainer for this session was Mr. Shaikh Daniyal, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Corporate Freedom who is also a successful seller on Daraz. He explained the purpose of this session and introduced the guest speakers. Furthermore, he explained the usage of the Daraz User Interface. He also gave a real-time experience of product selection, hunting, sourcing, drop shipping, Private Label, White Label, pricing, logistics, and warehousing. In the Q/A session, he answered the queries of the participants and provided them with practical answers.
The other keynote speakers included Mr. Zubair Qureshi, Manager Seller Acquisition Daraz; Mr. Nabil Kalu, Moderator Soul Brothers; Mr. Ahmed Rauf Essa, CEO Telemart Pvt. Ltd.; and Syed Waleed Masood, CEO WebX. These speakers provided practical approaches to launch and grow E-commerce businesses.
The main purpose of this event was to empower the youth and enable them to start their own freelancing and startup journeys in the field of E-commerce. In this training session, several renowned speakers talked about the local E-commerce landscape of Pakistan. This training was physically attended by around 220 participants and virtually by approximately 80 participants.
