Accreditation Office, SBS and AREC organize workshops on AoL and development of robust Rubrics for its faculty members

February 4, 2022:The Accreditation Office, School of Business Studies (SBS) with the guidance of AACSB Review and Execution Committee (AREC) organized two workshops for its faculty members to enhance the understanding of Assurance of Learning (AoL) and Development of Robust Rubrics as a part of a series to strengthen the AoL process at the SBS.

The AoL workshop was conducted by Associate Professor and Chairperson, Finance Department, and Co-lead AREC, Dr. Sana Tauseef; and Lecturer, Management Department, and member AREC, Ms. Kanza Sohail. They introduced the concept and explained that AoL is a comprehensive process that measures the achievement of program competency goals followed by remedial measures for continuous improvement. Faculty members attending the workshop also shared their feedback regarding the challenges and learnings in the AoL process followed by an insightful discussion for continuous improvement at the SBS.

Another workshop on Rubrics was conducted by Professor, Marketing Department, and member AREC, Dr. Mohsin Butt. He elaborated on Rubrics and explained that it is a criterion used in subjective assessment of a student's performance. Dr. Butt discussed the types and details of creating assessment rubrics and why developing of robust and comprehensive rubrics is very important for a strong AoL process. He further shared some examples of good rubrics.
