IBA Karachi Hosts Insightful Session on "Industry Connect Spring'25: SMCS Students Visit VentureDive for an Inspiring Tech Immersion"

April 16, 2025: The School of Mathematics and Computer Science (SMCS), IBA Karachi, successfully organized the second visit of the Industry Connect Spring'25 series to VentureDive. The visit offered students a unique opportunity to engage in insightful conversations with key members of the VentureDive team, including the CEO.

The session commenced with a welcome by Nimran Mughal, Manager Talent Acquisition at VentureDive. She shared a comprehensive overview of the company and it impact in the tech industry and shared the agenda of the visit.

A highlight of the visit was an engaging and inspiring conversation with Mr. Atif Azim, CEO of VentureDive. He shared his entrepreneurial journey and how he transformed VentureDive into a leading tech player in the region. Mr. Azim emphasized the growing importance of data in today's world and the critical role AI will play in the future. He encouraged students to sharpen both their technical expertise and soft skills, highlighting the importance of being well-rounded professionals in today's competitive job market. His message centered around problem-solving, continuous learning as core principles for career success.

Students also had the opportunity to meet Mr. Fawad Mehdi, Associate Director of Data at VentureDive. In a thought-provoking session, Mr. Mehdi delved into the world of Data Engineering, emphasizing its increasing relevance in the tech industry. He also introduced students to other emerging domains such as cloud technologies. He urged the students to identify their strengths and commit to mastering a specific area in order to become industry-ready professionals.

The visit concluded with an interactive Q&A session featuring the entire VentureDive team and the CEO, where students engaged in dynamic discussions, received career advice, and gained valuable insights into the tech industry's current and future demands.
