IBA students secure 3rd place at the Jazz Digital Squad - Data Hackathon

We are delighted to announce that the student team representing IBA Karachi secured 3rd position at the prestigious Jazz Digital Squad - Data Hackathon in Islamabad. The members of the winning team included students from the Class of 2024: Muhammad Hamza Ansari, Safwan Khan, and Khawar Ahmed. They were awarded a cash prize of 100,000 PKR/-.

The competition involved candidates from various universities across Pakistan including IBA, LUMS, NUST and FAST. The six-month journey challenged the students to dive deep into data analytics with Tableau, focusing on a dataset ‘Global Superstore’, provided by Jazz. The team’s objective was to uncover insights that could drive significant business impact.

Through rounds of selection, IBA students made it to the top 5 teams and presented their findings in-person at Islamabad to a panel of esteemed judges, including Tazeen Shahid, Chief People Officer; Asif Aziz, President of Enterprise Solutions; Syed Ali Naseer, Chief Data & Strategy Officer; and Khalid Shahzad, President of Analytics & Software.

The Dashboards presented by the team included a Business Overview Dashboard, a Product Performance Dashboard, a Customer Analysis Dashboard and an Operational Analysis Dashboard.
