IBA-SMCS Hosts Computer Science Students from Leading Universities at ICPC Pakistan Regional Contest
January 31 - February 1, 2026: The School of Mathematics and Computer Science (SMCS), Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi, proudly hosted the ICPC Pakistan – Asia South Regional On-Site Contest, a prestigious two-day programming competition that brought together some of the brightest problem-solvers from leading universities of Computer Science across Karachi.
The contest served as a platform for students to demonstrate their analytical thinking, teamwork, and technical excellence in solving complex, time-bound computational challenges. Over the course of the event, participants showcased exceptional focus, collaboration, and determination, embodying the true spirit of competitive programming and innovation.
Participating Universities and Mentors
IBA-SMCS was honored to welcome talented teams and their dedicated coaches from prominent institutions, including Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi, NED University of Engineering and Technology, FAST-NUCES Karachi Campus, Nazeer Hussain University, Muhammad Ali Jinnah University, and Habib University. Their participation contributed to a vibrant and challenging environment, reflecting the strong collaborative spirit and growing culture of competitive programming among leading universities in Pakistan.
The presence and mentorship of experienced coaches, including Muhammad Rafi (FAST-NUCES), Dr. Imran Rauf (IBA-SMCS), Usman Amjad(NED), and Syed Hammad Ahmed (Habib University), played a vital role in guiding and motivating participants throughout the competition.
Special appreciation is extended to Dean Dr Shakeel Khoja and Dr Muhammad Atif Tahir for coordinating ICPC event at Karachi and for their continued efforts in strengthening the competitive programming ecosystem nationwide.
