IBA Karachi and UPEC France Sign MoU to Strengthen Academic and Research Collaboration

January 27, 2026: IBA Karachi and Universite Paris-Est Creteil (UPEC), France, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen academic and research collaboration across key disciplines, including Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Economics, Social Sciences, and Business Studies.

The MoU was signed by Dr. S. Akbar Zaidi, Executive Director, IBA Karachi, and Ms. Karine Berges, President, UPEC France, formalizing a shared commitment to advancing international academic partnerships. The collaboration aims to promote joint research initiatives, faculty and student exchange programs, and knowledge sharing across the identified academic areas. By leveraging the academic strengths and research expertise of both institutions, the partnership seeks to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and enhance global academic engagement.

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Khoja, Dean & Professor, Dr. Shahid Hussain, Professor & Chairperson, Department of Computer Science, and Dr. Rizwan Ahmed Khan, Professor, representing IBA’s School of Mathematics and Computer Science (SMCS).

This partnership reflects IBA Karachi’s continued efforts to expand its international footprint and reinforces both institutions’ commitment to academic excellence, research innovation, and cross-border collaboration.
