IBA Karachi and Algoma University sign an MoU for academic collaboration

April 06, 2022: The Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi and Algoma University (AU), Canada signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate research and academic collaborations between both the institutions. The agreement was signed by Executive Director, IBA, Dr. S Akbar Zaidi and the President and Vice-Chancellor, Algoma University, Dr. Asima Vezina.

Mr. Craig Fowler, Vice-President, Growth, Innovation & External Relations, AU, also attended the signing ceremony. The IBA team included, Dean School of Business Studies, Dr. Wajid Rizvi, and Chairpersons and Faculty members, Dr. Shahid Hussain, Dr. Muhammad Ayaz, Dr. Hisham Bin Zubair, Dr. Shahid Mir and Senior Manager External Linkages, Ms. Shehreena Amin. Mr. Sameer Dossal, President Canada-Pakistan Business Council and Mr. Mansoor Syed from CPBC also attended the MoU signing. The purpose of this agreement is to provide a platform for promoting international and intercultural understanding and exchanges between the two institutions, and to develop and conduct collaborative academic activities.

AU is a public university located in Canada and it is also the fastest growing and most diverse university in the province of Ontario. The university has three unique campuses within Ontario that offer students one-of-a-kind experience. The Canada-Pakistan Council for Education (CPCE) played a vital role in connecting the two institutions. Furthermore, the universities discussed partnership opportunities to optimize student-centered education on a global level.
