IBA signs MoU with SILC Business School, Shanghai University
IBA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with SILC Business School of Shanghai University, which is one of the oldest and leading research universities of China. The objective of this MoU is to develop and foster a mutually beneficial relationship between the two universities and cooperate in all academic fields and programs offered at these universities. This MoU will be helpful in carrying out following activities under its umbrella:
a) Exchange of undergraduates and post-graduates
b) Exchange of faculty members and researchers
c) Joint research activities
d) Participation in summer schools
The opportunity of enormous cooperation between both universities opened up when a group of MBA students led by Dr. Nasir Afghan and Dr. Rameez Khalid, visited the SILC Business School, Shanghai University, on a study trip in January this year as a part of International Field Project Course. Shanghai University is known for its vigorous international exchanges and cooperation. It has established academic links and cooperation with dozens of foreign universities, including faculty and student exchanges. Currently, over 3,000 international students are studying on Shanghai University campuses.
Dr. Sayeed Ghani, Acting Dean & Director, and Capt. Ahmed Zaheer, Registrar IBA, and their Chinese counterpart at SILC Business School signed the MoU on behalf of both universities. Dr. Nasir Afghan, Program Director MBA, who initiated the process, expressed his immense pleasure and said that the time tested friendship of Pakistan and China should encompass people to people linkages; and academia and intellectuals should also play their role in fostering the relationship and friendship between both nations. He said that the IBA MBA Club is planning to host the next year's International CPEC Business Conference 2017 in collaboration with SILC Business School, Shanghai University.
