Fire Safety Drill at IBA Staff Town
October 10: IBA Administration Department successfully
conducted a Fire Safety Drill at the IBA Staff Town as part of
our ‘Emergency Response Efforts’. The purpose of conducting
these life-saving fire drills is to ensure that in case of a
fire, everyone is acquainted with the practices of evacuating
the premises safely and immediately. People need to recognize
the sound of the fire alarm, it is vital to teach them the ways
of extinguishing a fire and saving lives. On a national level,
numerous precious lives have been lost as the knowledge
regarding safety precautions and evacuation in case of a fire is
very limited. The need for fire drills was recognized and from
now onwards fire drills will be conducted regularly at the IBA.
ERT Concepts, Rescue & Survival techniques will remain our top priority to provide the IBA family with a safe working environment. The basic aim of these trainings is to train the participants to react quickly in terms of resolving crises, preventing fires and saving lives. Building Managers at the IBA are now well trained and can be approached, in case of a fire emergency. Next in line are our Security Team, which will reach the fire scene and efficiently respond within minutes.
Some preventive measure which organizations need to adopt in order to avoid fires are: incorporating regular audits, conducting firefighting drills, ensuring timely inspections of the fire equipment and developing relevant SOPs. Effective firefighting requires specialized skills in combating, extinguishing and preventing fires without any delay. Loss of life is not acceptable to the Public and media just because of negligence.
Mr. Aamer Shabbir Khan, General Manager Administration IBA expressed his gratitude towards Mr. Tehseen Ahmed Siddiqui, Chief City Fire Brigade for sending his Fire Brigade and for ensuring assistance in form of provision of fire brigades in case of emergencies. Mr. Aamer also appreciated the Administrative Team for working diligently towards improving the overall safety procedures at the IBA.
