CED's Certificate Students' Visit to Bux Farm, Gadap, Karachi
On Saturday, 12/12/15 participants of Certificate In Entrepreneurship Program went to Bux farm located in the Gadap Town in the outskirts of the karachi city. The trip was arranged by Rao Israr Ahmed, Program Manager CIE and Muhammad Talha Azeem, visiting faculty of EDP program. The weather was slightly cold, pleasing and windy. This trip was arranged in order to familiarise participants with the Agricultural Opportunities. On arrival, participants were briefed by the farm owner about the practices followed on his farm, different types of crops he is growing and his overall experiences. After this, participants had a tour of various types of plantations including chillies, tomato, Gourds, Onion and Okra. Participants also found an opportunity to see one of the largest implementation of Drip irrigation system installed on the similar farm. In the later part, participants were taken over to the orchard where they visited tree plantations including Sapota, Jojoba, Papaya and lemon. During all the visits participants were accompanied by the farm owner and workers to answer all their questions and to share his experiences. Over all, the trip ended with vibrant interest of participants in the agricultural opportunities existing in the city, the province and the country. For this kindness and support Mr Muhammad Talha Azeem presented a token of appreciation to Mr.Rashid, owner of the Bux farm on behalf of IBA and its whole fraternity.
